Babri Vs Ayodhya

Killings and Massacre all over, There is blood on our hand.
We keep fighting like children, just for pieces of Land.

Happiness seems to be lost, there are only screams everywhere.
This deafening sound of violence, which no more i can bear.

Doesn't matter where you belong, be it saffron or Green.
There are distances all over, To take the first step no one is Keen

I wish all this gets over pretty soon.
The dark night is over and we see the new moon.

The new day arrives when there is just love and no fight.
The darkness deep inside us is gone and let there be light

Why Commonwealth Games are not a National Priority

First things first, I think the games should not have been organized in the first place. There is absolutely no explanation (financial, political, social or otherwise) for India to host CWG or any sort of an international sporting event altogether. Neither am i talking about the delay nor the corruption. Neither the International Shame that has been bestowed upon us by the Dog Poo in the apartment Nor the Falling Cross Over Bridges. I am just asking a simple Question about Priorities. Why did we have to organize these games?

IF we are trying to promote a 'sporting' culture and 'Healthy Living' then can anybody tell me How many of Delhiites have actually visited Indira Gandhi, National, Jawahar Lal or any other stadium in the past 10 years!!! If you want people to take up sports, then build small sports complexes all over the city, where people can play with their families, Kids can take tennis/swimming lessons and we may have a healthier/sporty generation to follow.

If we wanted to 'show the world' that we had the caliber to pull off a 'Beijing'. Who are we trying to show off to? The commonwealth nations are british ex-colonies most of which (economics wise) do not have anything to boast of anyways. Only Canada and UK have a GDP higher than us anyways. What would it serve to host events for countries to show off our prowess to, who anyways are struggling their economic existence. If you have money to spend, then send that money to the African nations where people are fighting AIDS and actually need that money to save those lives.

If we wanted to build better infrastructure for the urban city dwellers, then Did we have to organize this 'Show Off' for 15 days and spend billions of hard earned money of the tax payer (especially when majority of tax receipts comes not from the builders/contractors/businessmen who don't file their tax returns but from a freaking salaried guy who gets his salary in his bank account and the Tax is already deducted at source, lest he indulges in any tax evasion)? Why not make things better for THAT guy? As a representative of THAT guy and being an 'urban delhiite', I care more about 15 mins reduction in my travel time to work and back without any traffic jams rather than a freaking stadium eating up energy in those floodlights which will be used for 15 days. When the whole locality is sitting in dark, because THEIR electricity has been provided to that stadium nearby, which they will never be able to even enter if they wanted to.

Let's get real guys. The fact is: we are laggards in almost every sport in the world. The only game we play or are 'reallly' bothered about is cricket. A Game that is played by 10 nations in the world, 5 of them in South Asia where more than 60%(i guess) population lives in rural areas. How many of us would actually know who won the maximum number of golds in last CWG or who is the world champion in Discuss Throw, Shotput, long jump, high jump, badminton, archery etc etc etc.

There is no shame, but just that we are not bothered about these sports (as of yet). So what do we do? Do we just ignore the people who play these games in India ? Absolutely Not. But Have we organized CWG for THEM or in belief, that people will start participating in these games, once they have seen these sports themselves in stadiums? I don't think so. Give the hockey team players the money that is promised to them, so that the millions of children who were thinking of joining the game, do not turn away thinking 'Khana kahaa se kahunga?' If you actually care about these sports/sports persons then give the bloody money to the sports authorities/bodies for training/coaches/nutrition and build up a redressal mechanism so that you can 'know' if the money is reaching them

Also, for all those who are thinking that the delay has been caused due to babu giri or red tapism. Think again. If we sleep for 4 years after the games are allotted to us and start working at the 11th hour, as i see it, i think its all intentional. The delay was not caused we are lazy people, but because we wanted it to get delayed. Panic infuses a sense of 'Lets just get it done at ANY cost'. When you stop bothering about the price, you just want to get it done. May be that can explain the high prices at which materials/equipment was sourced. But hey, i don't even want to talk about the corruption in this post. Even if you forget the corruption/international shame due to delays etc for one bit, where does it make sense to build these stadiums in the first place.

For the 'urban' types who are singing song of 'Infrastructural Developments' DUE to CWG. I ask this. What if the CWG was not to be organized in Delhi. Would the government waited till the olympics to provide us with the Delhi Metro or the flyovers or better roads or better lighting etc etc. Are these happening only because CWG are being organized in Delhi? If No, then why organize it. IfYes, then its an even shameful situation that we need to have an international gaming event and the 'sharam' that tourists will come and see our city as being dirty, so let's clean up and build some roads.

We got a Country where 60% population doesn't have food, electricity, water, irrigation, roads, transport, infrastructure in the rural areas and we decide to spend all of 30,000 Crores on building stadiums and purchasing toilet paper for Rs 4000 per roll !! What boost is this money gonna give to the rural development in the country. How are these games going to change anything for the farmers/laborers committing suicides everyday. How are these going to do anything for anybody i dont understand.

For those, who are sharing pretty pictures of the 'world class stadiums' built for the CWG because we should concentrate on 'the positive' and rubbish the 'negativity' spread by the Indian Media, I have a question. Why the hell media shouldn't? Isn't this what the media is for? Its not a makeup artist who would hide your acne through thick layers of make up. Its their job to show what's hidden? Who would have known of this corruption, if the media hadn't shown? Would the PM intervened if it was reported that its all 'hunky dorry' and India is 'shining'.

For those who have this 'Chalo yaar, ho gaya jo hona sa. Ab kam se kam Duniya ko toh apna gandh na dikhao' attitude and are 'proud' of the fact that we are hosting the games. I think this is why we suffer. If a Kid steals and the mom-dad hide him, he will do it again. I hope the 'kids' running our government bodies learn their lesson through this negative publicity and think thousand times before organizing olympics in the next 100 years

PS: I have like a thousand more things/arguments to write and mind you, i have not even mentioned anything on the corruption/international shame/delays etc as yet, but i know, most people hardly read the post, if its longer than a few hundred words. So will stop it now

Typical Facebook Profiles

A Few of the typical Facebook Profiles that i have noticed in the past one year. If at anypoint you think that i had you in mind while writing any of these. You are right. Tag your friends and let them wonder what profile they fit into ;)

Mush Maniacs: Girls (sometimes guys too) who would put keep putting those 101 love quotes from the Internet mostly depressing. I am glad you are there. You are the best thing happened to me. There is someone special someone for you types. Typically they will tell the whole world who their boyfriend/girlfriend is through all those Heart signs,

Desperate Dickheads: Poor Guys who have never been able to lay their hand (both literally and figuratively) on a Gal and will keep copying Double Meaning Quotes from Internet to attract some attention (in any form good or bad) so that atleast somebody notices. There is another High Un-Yielding Variety of this type, which would generally have 'I Hate Love' updates. Love is for losers. I am better off being single. No Time for Love. But one look at the profile pic and you know you have seen one. Typical Fan Pages : Proud to be Single types.

I, Me, Myself: Typically this type will have more than 1000 photographs in 20 + albums whose titles are generally on the lines of Random Stuff, Just another Day Shopping, Me and My Friends, Cafe Coffee Day. There would be more than 100 profile pictures and 90 of them will be self clicked with a camera phone and occassionally with another friend in the frame. The location generally would be a coffee shop or can even reach Mall Washrooms (especially if girls). The Status updates would generally be 'Attitude' Quotes. I don give a f*ck about your existence. Typical Fan pages include I was not placed on earth to please you. Games Played : Society or Sorority Life

I am so glad i got a girlfriend(somehow): Another variant of the Mush Maniacs but with the profile pic. Will have 20 albums posing with girlfriend in Malls, Cars, Markets.(Thank God no Loos here). The profile pic will typically be a close up self clicked shot with camera phone held high showing the biggest achievement of his life being held from behind almost as if she is gonna run away ;)

Everyone else is a loser: Slightly different from the 'I-Me-Myself' type. Typically they will never 'like' any update but always try to find flaws in whatever is written. Next day you could have a diametrically opposite update but still he will find some counter argument there too. More often than not, they will never post something themselves but will just comment on every single update from others'. The 'Nay Sayers', 'System Sucks', 'India is going to the Dogs' are some cross breeds of the same type.

Super Stalkers: They have not had a single status update in the past 3 years. Would not playa any game. Will not do anything. Will not even have a profile picture. Generally are single and Dont go out at the weekend. Will just stay back. Log on early morning and will only browse through your updates (or pictures if you are a girl). They will know exactly what is going on in your life. They might not know which company you are working for but they will surely know how many girlfriends you have had in the past 3 years or anything you bought in the last one month.

Farmville Fools: NO.. Absolutely NO updates apart from 'I need a . Please send' types. Will just log in in the morning. Sit in the Chat window for the whole day. Keep 'Farming'. Will never comment on anybody's status. Will not bother about whats happening around. Only two albums in the profile. One called Profile pictures which has ONE picture since the past 2 years and Other 'Farmville photos' updated almost every month. The profile pic can also have a shot of the farm sometimes. Apologies for using Fools but i am sure its better than 'F*ckers and you know i hate that game ;) (PS: it includes the Mafia Wars too)

Sports Freaks: The Status Msgs are filled with the latest score updates from EPL to IPL. Formula 1 to International Kabaddi World Cup. The word 'God' appears almost every fortnight. Thank God Facebook is only an Online platform or we could have seen some physical Brawls too. Frequently Used Words : Hail, Kick Ass, Woo Hooo, F*ck you , God, Dada Rocks

The 'TGIF' kinds: Typically they will only update two times a week. One on friday evening saying 'Yiiipppppie the weekend is here' and then sunday Evening saying 'Damn.. Why does the weekend run away so quickly'. They will never do anything in the middle. Will just sit at home and watch TV. They will never go out or do anything worth doing over the weekend but still be as excited as a child in a toy shop on friday. Sometimes, there could be a Saturday update saying 'Bored to Death' also present.

Pet Lovers: Yes, there are people who have Cats and Dogs as their profile pictures and also name them as an extended part of their family. There are a couple of albums with nothing but their pets in different attires (Even sunglasses) and the comments are almost on the lines of mush maniacs like awwww he is so cutttteeee, My koooochie cooo, etc etc.

There are quite a few others too like The Every hour updater (Which I would fit into), The Pseudo everything-er, The bored to Death, The 'Oh I am an NRI', The 'See i went to Thailand' types but i am too lazy to describing every thing right now
PS: Wrote it in about 20 minutes so might miss out quite a few other types too. Feel Free to Add. Start Noticing your friends now and see where they fit. Do let me know where i fit as well. and ya, its ALL in GOOD HUMOR. Dont stop 'liking' me now.. ;)

'Golden' Years!!! Really???

It was a pretty strange feeling today. I was coming back from the temple and saw an old lady (like really really really old). She must have been more than 70 years and also had a back problem. She was stooping like a bow and was struggling to cross the road. As 100s of others who just passed by, not because they didnt want to help or anything else, its just that she was just not noticable enough for anybody. She was not the poor types. Just old.. Too Old.. Thats it. And ya, I was no different and almost went past. And then i could just hear a whisper. I couldnt understand what she said, but guessed that she wanted somebody to help her cross the road. Then nothing else, I just grabbed her hand and we crossed the road. I know. No big Deal!!! right? i agree. But not for her. She kept on thanking me again and again (which again i could hardly understand). Blessing me repeatedly. Kept Calling me Beta Beta. And off she went. And i went mine.

And it was over. or did it 'start'?? Honestly, I dont know. But for me, it was like living my own old age in front of me. 50 years too early i guess!! I started wondering what her story was (or even if she had a story at all!) If she had kids?? If yes, then why dint they come to the temple with her? Or Did she have anybody at all? Why would she wanna take such pains just to visit the temple?? How difficult it is for her to step out of her house every time she does? How many times in a day would she have to use that small whisper to make somebody take notice of her presence and help her? How would it feel to be invisible amongst thousands? How would it feel to be just another old man/woman in the crowd? Are these really the golden years that they are supposed to be??

She went her way and i was standing back, just looking at her. Infact, could feel something wet in my eye too. And she just walked away. Walked away step by step. And i saw her whole life in every step. Every Single step was as full of struggle as a life time. Every step mocking the whole purpose of life. IF there is a purpose. Apart from 'Survival'. Every single day. Every single Moment. Every Single Step. We are just surviving. Not 'living'. An endless journey towards an unknown destination. Just a walk. Long Walk.

All our life, we keep struggling to reach a destination. But nobody knows 'what' that destination is?? There are just milestones on a long road. We keep going from one to the other. Studies. Job. Car. Bigger Car. Marriage. Home. Bigger Home. Kids. Their Studies. Their Marriage. and it goes on and on and on. Just the long road!!! We meet companions (or co travellers if you wish to call them) who travel with us for a while and then take their own way forward. But at the end, what we are always left with is our own self. Just that loneliness (Or even Helplessness). I dont know what more to write coz i just feel blanked out. May be thats because i do not know what my old age would be like. Or rather, i dont 'expect' it to be like this. But Would that woman have thought otherwise? Just a thought. Will add when i 'Know' what i want to say!

Andhon ka Haathi!!!

Arent all of us trying to judge and describe 'others' as blind men trying to describe how an elephant looks like (or rather would like) to ourselves(and to the world)???

A thought just struck my mind and as always I decided to pen(read: type) it down. Neither is it self indulgent, Nor is it supposed to start a deep thinkin process towards self realization. And ya, It is too common sensical too.. I mean its too obvious that these things happen.. and hey, i am not claiming that i write 'thought provoking serious issue' type gyaan only.. and ya one more thing, For all of my yesteryear's DramSoc friends.. No, The post is also NOT about the play that we performed in 2001 at BITS pilani. ;-)

For eg. In the classic story which all of us would have read already. 5 Blind men are trying to describe how an elephant looks like. Somebody who feels the tail, describes him as a rope. The one who feels the stomach, describes him as a big Wall. And so on and so forth with other body parts and different interpretations and They keep fighting that the elephant ONLY is like the part as THEY(individually) describe him.

Well, I think over the years I (as all of us) have met 100s of people and most (depending on what stage of your lifecycle you meet them in) have formed an opinion about me. For some, I am a carefree, snobbish guy who wouldnt care a damn about anything or anybody. For some, I will always be a Happy go lucky, PJ King kinda guy who would just keep cracking jokes at every single moment possible. For some, I might be a senti idiot who will take everything to his heart and just cannot get over stuff and move on with life. For some, I was a dopey with shoulder length hair and a goatie (ya, even though i never took a drag everrr in my life, I was always asked.. Batla, you got some grass!!!). And for others (for obvious reasons) I am the biggest loser to have walked this planet EVERR.

My point is(and its very simple and straight foward), that I dont think ANY of us can be described as ONE individual trait. I mean, X is funny, Y is an Idiot, Z is a loser etc etc. Of all the people we have met (and i am not talkint about 5-6 'close' friends who know you in an out), we tend to spend very little time with them and then in that small amount of time we tend to make judgements and create our own 'images' (or perceptions) about those people. And try to fit people in those cilos. Similar to the elephant story, We try to just think about that person as what WE think, he or she is. (I am also a part of the same group and its human tendency coz obviously we its practically impossible to know EVERYBODY in detail and try to analyze each and every person, anyways).

Okay, Honestly I am not clear as to why i am writing the post or even if i HAVE a point, let alone put it across. i just believe that nobody is one trait. Every single person is complex and behaves differently according to the situation. So one can be funny, serious, senti, carefree all in a single day. What i only wish to convey is that, rather than just judging a person on what ever little that you know of. Do not make judgements. Do not fit a person in YOUR silo. Do not think of him/her as a unidimensional characteristic. Rather, if you like THAT part then try to just let it be or better still, explore more, learn more, and THEN formulate your opinion(if you have to have to formulate, that is). Just dont generally categorize people as funny, dumb, senti, carefree, careless, mature, immature, loving, not loving, rude, sweet, etc etc etc. KNOW a bit, then know some MORE, and THEN formulate your opinions.. Good, Bad, whatever that may be..

(Although it should have taken 15 minutes, in the first place but took 12 days and 15 minutes (And 2 flash backs) )

The Economics of Relationships

1. The Marginal Utility of the girlfriend goes down once the chase is over and done with and is inversly propotional with the time spent with each other.

2. After the status is changed to committed, the guy always moves to a higher 'indifference' curve

3. There is always an opportunity cost associated with the decision to get in or out of a relationship(which always seems to be wrong later, no matter what your choice has been)

4. 'Production Possibility Frontier' of the neighbouring college always seems to be higher in terms of quality of girls there in.

5. The guy in the BMW will always have a 'comparative advantage' over you

6. There is always perfect competition when you are the 'nerd' kinds.

7. The 'EX' and the 'WHY' coordinates always spoil the plotting of the graphs.

8. 'Capital' is more appropriate for production(or reproduction) as a resource than 'Labour'

9. If the price offered is higher, the 'supply' curve will always shift outwards

10. There is ALWYAS a demand supply mismatch. What you demand is short in supply and what is available is what you dont want.

10 Things you never knew about Delhi Traffic!!

1. The Red light turns green faster, when you stop your car JUST ahead of the Zebra Crossing!

2. As soon as you change your lane in a jam, 'YOUR' lane would start moving faster!!

3. Pedestrians can dodge cars faster than keanu reeves dodges bullets!!

4. If I honk continuously for 25 seconds, the car ahead would automatically turn into a MIG 21!!

5. The autorickshawallah will ALWAYS give the right turn signal and then turn left!!

6. The Traffic always runs faster on the other side of the road!!

7. The first car which the traffic wallah will stop while clearing traffic will be yours!!

8. The traffic jam clears faster, if you start driving on the wrong side of the road!!

9. The Bikewallah will ALWAYS find the space to JUST sneak through, between your car and the road divider!!

10. The Driver behind has to take a test mentioning the nicknames of the kids in my house and who gifted me the car(Dad or Mom or Dad's Mom or Mom's Dad etc etc), as soon as he reaches back home. Or else his licence to drive 'WILL'be cancelled!!!

The 'NICE' Guy

Nice guys:

The ones who are 'perfect boy friend' material but still remain single.
The ones who are 'cute' but not 'hot.
The ones who are just too sweet for everything.
The ones who are 'too nice to date'.
The ones for whom ANY girl would die for, but doesnt.
and lastly..
The ones who are always available at the 11th hour, but not 'required' beyond that!!!

This is a tribute to 'THE NICE GUY'

When you are stuck somewhere between Pareto Optimality theory & Indifference curve analysis and tomorrow morning is the final exam. What do you do? You Call the nice guy.

When you are drunk and can't find the stupid guy you came to party with coz he is with some 'other' hot chick. What do you do? You Call the nice guy.

You cant decide on what do in ANY particular situation from 'would these shoes go with this top' to 'Damn, what do i do now'. What do you do? You Call the nice guy.

You have a fight with your boyfriend who in 'your' terms is an ass, a jerk, un-emotional, insensitive etc etc and you need just a couple o hours of 'talktime' with a close 'friend'. What do you do? You Call the nice guy.

Nice guy as a 'breed' has always been into existence and has the above mentioned characteristics to boast of but no credit for those. The nice guys always have the 'perfect word' to describe how beautiful/pretty/cute/hot/
smart/sexy/amazing/sweet/ at exactly the 'perfect moment'. The nice guys dont get appreciated as often as they should or as a matter of fact dont get laid as much as they should!!!

There are sooo many 'girl' friends of mine who describe their 'perfect' man as one who is smart, intelligent, funny, cute, creative, chivalrous, charactered (if thats a word) etc etc and none of the 'boyfriends' of those girl friends are even in the 200 mile radius of their description. ALL of them have their 'not important' list consisting the 'hot' factor, looks, appearance, status, money etc etc.
But the funny part is, More often than not all these girl friends tend to find the man with not so important factors present but the important characters missing!!!

This post is an appeal to ALL those women who have these nice 'friends' to STOP taking them for granted and start dating them!! Give them what they deserve. Go beyond the 'shoulder' and 'friendly' hugs. Dont 'Awwwww' them. Stop using phrases like 'Thats sooo sweet', 'you are such a sweet heart', 'o my god, you are sooo cute', 'I wish i was single' etc etc.

And Till the time this happens, i just want to reassure all the 'un-valued, un-appreciated, over looked, un-cared for' nice guys of the world. There is always 'hope' at the end. The 'hope' that keeps you going on and on. The 'hope' that one day you might move from having a 'girl friend' to having a ''girlfriend'. The hope that one day your status message at social networking site will flash 'in a relationship' before 'married'.

That one day shall come. Sooner or Later. But yes, till that time, Dont stop being a nice guy, because you are the unsung, nameless and faceless heroes of this world, and all your 'girl friends' need you to be there for them in discotheques, bars, classrooms, shopping malls, to share, to laugh, to cry, to guide, to bitch, to hear, to learn, to whine, to crib.. Wait.. Your time shall too come.. One day.. Sooner or Later.. It shall..

Dev D: Mr Rahman here comes Mr Trivedi. Run and Hide!!!!!

Well.. Firstly, i know i am writing it like 6 months too late but what the heck. The FEEL is still the same. Most of us are already aware that it is a Sooooper Album and complements the movie in every way possible. Its like a central character in the movie itself and lyrics don't feel like songs but a narrative. Without the sound track, i guess its very difficult for somebody to actually even imagine the movie.

Dev D. is the most versatile and complete album that i have come across in a VERY VERY long time. I mean i am just crazy about every f**kin track. There is not even a single song out of the 18 on the album, which can be classified even as Average. It is just amazing how different can all 18 songs be from each other and Still bind the movie together.

Sometimes, i actually wonder if Amit Trivedi himself composed all the songs!!! Its very difficult to imagine somebody compose songs so different from each other and including genres like rock, pop, folk, bhangra, semi-classical and EVERYTHING works!!!!

I am not sure how many would have noticed the 'By Gods' in "Paayalia". I am amazed to even imagine how he would have actually thought of putting these words in the song randomly and it is nothing short of genius. I think the soul of the music lies in the how different instruments have been used so imaginitively together and Amit Trivedi manages to get just the right mix.

Emosanayal Atyachar which obviously is the most popular track of the album for its DIFFERENT brass band sound and since everybody has already heard it like a million times so no point discussing it further. But i must appreciate that even the rock version although doesnt give the full FEEL of an international rock band still is not that bad either.

Bhangra songs like Hikknaal and Mahi Menu are just as good as they come. Former is fully unadulterated and rustic, and latter is more on the UKish bhangra pop.

Pardesi's fusion FEEL with English Lyrics at the beginning and then completely to folkish stuff, Use of Electronics, Turntables along with Sitar is out of the world.

In terms of vocals too, Amit leaves his mark in ALL the songs that he has sung, be it Duniya (specially when he says Horran bajaye), Aankh Micholi, Nayan Tarse or Saali Khushi.

Now the problem is that i think i can deliver a lecture or write atleast a post for EACH of the track but i dont really if others get the same FEEL that i get from the album or not. So wont even talk about it anymore.

The bottomline is that arguably this is the BEST ALBUM by far since a pretty long and i am just in love with it and Amit Trivedi is nothing short of GOD in terms of versatility. I would love to see how he beats THIS the next time he composes. Mr Rahman, you've got competition!!!! and IF this is not a flash in the pan, Start worrying as well.. Because THE trivedi has arrived.

A 'SNOB'

I was at NM a couple of days back for a J-A-M ( Just a minute competition).. and some guy from a college saw me there.. and told another friend of mine in his college that 'I saw that Somaiya Snob there'.. And obviously the girl was a good friend and in the evening she tells me that.. And i started laughing.. not at her.. not at me.. but perceptions people have and judgements they make without even meeting somebody..

For god's sake man(for that matter women as well).. I am tired of this thing.. Its been years.. since my collge days.. Almost everybody who meets me for the first time thinks the same.. its like a pattern.. "You see me.. think i am a snob.. then as fate would have it.. We meet.. we talk.. the perceptions change.. we become the best of the friends.. and somebody tells you that i am a snob.. and you then starts defending me.."

I dont understand if a person takes his time to open up with people and likes to be with the people he likes to be with.. and if you find me sitting in a corner reading a book or some article on the net.. then does it mean that i feel that i am superior to the whole race and do not want to maintain an eye contact with anybody as that might not be worthy of it!!!!.. come on man.. get a life..

I am obviously not here for an explanation... But I would only like to ask people is to "STOP BEING JUDGEMENTAL".. Atleast till the time you actually MEET or TALK to somebody(anybody) yourself.. Some people might just be inherently shy or something.. Just go to them.. Have a small Conversation and then decide.. it aint too much to ask for.. or is it????

Well.. That was a generalized statement.. as far as I am concerned.. Now i dont really give it a thought to this 'snob' thing.. coz the people who KNOW the real me through the time they have spent with me.. I kno what they think about it.. and Nothing else matters...

So.. Dont bother about who dont matter.. Coz the people who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind..

Take Very good care of yourself..

Long Time No Post...

Well.. Havent really updated my blog since a long time.. my apologies( hehe.. To whom.. ???? i m sounding like a crack pot.. as if somebody actually waits or even reads the entries here.. bt wateva).. Lets see if you can go all the way.. coz the point i wanna make is at the end of the post.. so lets check your patience with this longish entry..

Was busy with all kinda b-school shit.. placements.. competitions.. quizes.. all sorts of crap.. bt now i m free.. pretty bored actually.. watching crazy amount of movies.. this year's oscar list is complete.. Babel.. Blood diamond.. Departed.. The Last king of scotland.. In pursuit of happyness.. All done(well Almost)..

The past couple o months have been mixed... got Placed with the an international bank.. good offer.. but on the quizzing and extra currics front.. not the greatest season.. I dont kno whats wrong.. Have been losing at all the BIIG quizzes.. the ones that count.. but such is my life.. i am slowly getting translated to the "oh.. That was Unlucky" loser type guy.. more like Team India.. Losing (that includes finishing runners up) at the big stage.. something always seems to go wrong.. What eva.. I always take these as a 'Healthy Learning Experience'.. :-)

Lost a Big Quiz even yesterday.. Was going great guns.. and Damn.. The other team challanages us for a difficult question.. and we come from winning to third place.. The mind was all fucked up last night.. Couldnt even sleep properly.. But don kno the reason.. I am feeling Really good today...Woke up with a 'Feel Good Factor'.. and Its early morning and i thought of updating my blog..

So here i am.. and the entry would be too long so this is only an introduction to the 'snob' entry coming your way...

Isnt it ironical.. I write this entry before the snob one.. But THAT would be featured above THIS..and after my updated post... you will get to kno tht THAT was a new entry after a long time i wanted.. am i makin sense??? well not much i guess.. But who cares.. right??

Take Care

Alone!!!

“All of our unhappiness comes from our inability to be alone” : Jean de la Bruyere

Alone.. Strange word it is.. Dictionary meaning says "Quite by one's self; apart from, or exclusive of, others; single; solitary; Of or by itself; by themselves; without any thing more or any one else; without a sharer; only, Unique; rare; matchless-- applied to a person or thing,"

This afternoon i was surrounded by atleast 100 people in the college canteen.. chatting..blabbering..laughing..screaming.. still i was alone.. May be when you are reading this, you are alone yourself. What??? You are not. Think again..

So, what being alone means. Is it a good thing or is it not? The answer lies with you. You what you are, when you are surrounded by others, some who matter and most who don't, or when you are with YOU??

Creativity somebody said that is an individual effort. Some of the most creative people are loners. They prefer to spend time away from coworkers, alone with their own thoughts and ideas. They may be difficult to talk to, even to find, and may not like working on teams. A lone genius can never fight with multiple mediocre minds. Is it true??

All of us have a mask which hides our own identity. The only time we are not with that mask, is the time we are alone. As Henry David Thoreau once said, “I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.” Who judges what we are good at or what not? Is it the people who 'know' you or who think they know you or your own self??

Is it only that presence of somebody means that you are not alone. or is that you can be alone in a literal sense, but still not alone because somebody or something is constantly with you??

How many times, has it happened with you that you feel alone in the company of a dozen, sometimes even a hundred people. and How many times has it happened that you are 'alone' in your room, staring at the fan above and still feel somebody's warmth around you??

Confused? I am as well.. Everything i have said here ends with a question mark And this is the very purpose of this post. Not to philosophize on something. But to Raise Questions and Start a thought process. When you are done reading this, just think about it and whenever you think you are alone. Remember.. It aint that bad either..

SureShot Way to kill Brilliance and Creativity: Examinations..

The only constant thing in life.. is NOT change.. its Examination..
Exams Exams and More Exams.. and thats about it.. Doing an MBA itself is too arduous and we have this trimester system and shit on the cake is Mid-Trimester Exams.. Come on guys.. Get a Life.. Giving assignments where you are supposed to exercise your right, left or center brain is something else.. but Having Exams every 40 Days is another..

Sometimes i feel like a Dog in China being sterilized by the local authorities.. but in this case the weapon used is the almighty pen through which the faculty gives marks..

I know some amount of creative genius is required here as well.. I mean, who can write the same sentence in 17 differet styles.. sometimes active..other passive.. and meaning nothing.. But for god's sake.. This is not going to count ANYWHERE in life..

No Creative Geniuses were made in B-Schools.. but what to do.. the only sure shot way to get a six( or even seven) figure salary in this country is only through a piece of paper called the MBA degree.. Business Success comes through Innovation and Creativity and not mugging up crap.. It comes through exericing your grey cells and thinking laterally and finding a gap in the market..(if it doesnt exist, then by very well creating a PERCEIVED gap in the minds of the consumer)..

I feel so goddamn bored till the brim.. No excitement.. No Challanges.. Just mundane studies.. Assignments.. Projects.. Showing your PPT Prowess.. thats it.. for heaven's sake.. guys get a life... Go out and Have Fun..

Hmmm.. Actually i hv got Two exams tomorrow so won't be able to write much.. So up i go to scale the business landscape through business strategy and trying to juggle my way into the Management Control Systems.. (though nothing systematic nor strategic about my preparations)..

Till next time.. i have this strange urge to write some crap which neither my roommates nor anybody else in the world cares about.. BBye..
